La Jolla Heights

The La Jolla Heights enclave, which lies northeast of The Village, is home to both moderately priced condominiums and grand estates situated on spacious lots.  Because of its location on the hillsides above The Shores, La Jolla Heights enjoys gentle ocean breezes that enhance the area’s mild, sunny climate.  There are no businesses in this peaceful, family-friendly suburban community, which features tree-lined streets leading to chaparral-covered hills.

Many of the most spectacular residences have westerly views to the ocean and easterly views to the mountains.  The Heights also boasts canyon-side homes on the slopes above La Jolla Scenic Drive.  The exclusive Cliffridge area is an eclectic mix of mainly remodeled two-story homes that were built during the 1960s and 1970s.

Because of its proximity to the I-5 Freeway, this area provides La Jolla’s easiest accessibility. UC San Diego, the Westfield UTC mall in University City, and the shops and restaurants of La Jolla Village are a stone’s throw from The Heights.

La Jolla Heights Natural Park provides excellent opportunities for hiking through native chaparral and for taking advantage of an expansive view of The Village, the ocean, and the glorious, curving coastline stretching north to Del Mar.

Nearby Pottery Canyon Natural Park is a San Diego Historic Landmark that offers a quick and easy get-away from urban life.  Its short walking trail winds among the eucalyptus and is perfect for seniors and children.  From the 1920s to the 1950s, the canyon was home to the well-known La Jolla Canyon Clay Products Company, owned by a talented family who emigrated from Mexico.

A convenient location, incomparable views, and lovely homes situated in safe and peaceful neighborhoods make La Jolla Heights one of the most sought-after communities in San Diego County.
